Sample Answer:
The debate on whether society can function without laws and regulations has been long-standing. While some people argue that rules and laws are necessary for an orderly and functioning society, others contend that individuals should be free to do whatever they wish. Throughout this essay, I will discuss both sides of the argument and ultimately conclude that, while some degree of freedom should be granted to individuals, society would be unable to function without rules and laws.
On the one hand, it is argued that individuals should be able to do whatever they want. This is because restricting individuals’ freedom of choice limits their ability to express themselves and pursue their interests. Furthermore, granting individuals the right to do whatever they wish may lead to innovation, as the opportunity to explore new ideas and concepts without fear of retribution can be liberating.
On the other hand, rules and laws are necessary for the functioning of a society. This is because laws help to keep order and protect the rights of citizens. For example, laws can protect people from exploitation, help to ensure that everyone is treated equally and fairly, and also provide a framework for resolving disputes. Moreover, laws can help to prevent people from engaging in activities that are deemed to be socially unacceptable or immoral.
In conclusion, it is evident that both sides of the argument have merit. While some degree of freedom should be given to individuals, laws and regulations are necessary for the functioning of a society. Without rules and laws, people may be tempted to engage in activities that are deemed to be dangerous or detrimental to society. Ultimately, it is important to strike a balance between granting individuals freedom and protecting the safety of society.
