Sample Answer:

It is true that the internet has revolutionised the way people learn and access information, leading some to suggest that schools are no longer necessary. However, I disagree with this opinion, as I believe that schools offer a range of benefits that cannot be replicated at home.

Firstly, schools provide an environment of learning that cannot be matched by home education. In a classroom, children learn in groups, with teachers and other students. This encourages children to think critically, discuss ideas and debate topics. Being in a school setting also fosters a sense of competition, as pupils strive to excel and reach their goals. In comparison, at home, children are likely to be in a much more solitary learning environment, which could stunt their development of important skills such as teamwork.

Secondly, schools offer a range of extra-curricular activities that can be accessed by pupils. These activities can help children to develop other skills such as music, art and sports, or explore their interests in a safe environment. Home education does not usually provide the same range of activities, which could mean that children are missing out on a wide range of development opportunities.

Finally, in a school setting, children can benefit from the guidance of teachers. Teachers can help pupils to develop their understanding of a subject and offer support and encouragement. This is particularly important for those who are struggling with a certain topic. Home education does not provide the same level of support and guidance, which could lead to a lack of progress.

In conclusion, I believe that schools offer a range of benefits that cannot be replicated at home. Children can learn in a group environment, access extra-curricular activities and have access to the guidance of teachers. For these reasons, I disagree with the opinion that schools are no longer necessary.
