‘Man has not inherited the Earth, but borrowed it from his posterity’ – Discuss.
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Model Answer:
“We do not inherited the planet, but borrowed it from our ancestors” is an ancient Indian proverb still is echoing in the modern world. We are exploiting all the natural resources of the planet rampantly without any concern of our future generations. Our greed, our aspiration leads the earth into havoc. Our selfish act will deprive out descendants. In the following paragraphs could explain how.
To start with, it is our ethical obligation to keep the earth healthy for our posterity as the planet will belong to them. The contemporary lifestyle could leave our ancestors in a world of filth. The technological and utilitarian philosophy that treat all the things, in the planet, as materials to be hammered into handy shape. It reduces us into mere consumers. Consequently, we want more and more amenities to lead a cozy life. Which is by consequence, we are producing these amenities rampantly that need energy increasingly.
It goes without saying that the majority of the energy comes from burning fossil fuels that cause the climate change or global warming. Global warming refers to the rise of average temperature of the planet. The rise of global temperatures is accompanied by changes in atmosphere and climate. The evidences are obvious now. That is to say that many places have seen changes in rainfall, for example. This results in over flood, droughts or intense rains as well as more recurrent and severe heat waves. The glaciers and oceans also experience some profound changes. Oceans are warming and turning into more acidic, ice caps are melting that results in the rising of sea levels. As these and other changes will become more pronounced in the future and they will likely present challenges to our next descendants.
Based upon above discussion, it is clear that we are going to pass an unhealthy earth to our next generations. We are borrowing the planet from our posterity by destroying their survival means. In the end what I want to say that it is our sacred duty to protect the natural rights of our future generations.
