Sample Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

In response to your open position announcement in Derby Telegraph for a volunteer to aid the environment project in my area,  I am writing this letter. I am eager to work in the project as I have a vast experience in several projects like this one.

Lately my neighbourhood, Camden Lock, is getting littered a lot. A pile of garbage has been dumped in many roadsides. Not only does it cause airborne diseases, but also it blocks roads that very often makes gridlock situation. As a result, it affects our daily life and peace of mind severely.

In order to play my role, I want to embark upon a campaign to stop littering into the roadsides and pavements. This campaign would focus onto the negative consequences of irresponsible littering and a training session would help on how to keep neighbourhood hygiene. Furthermore, I intend to pick up the garbage and dispose it off properly twice a week.

However, we need to solve the issues permanently. To do so, adequate recycling bins should be provided in the area. In addition to this, police and local council ought to impose law strictly.

If you feel there is a mutual interest, I would welcome the opportunity as I always eager to work in the environment projects such as yours. I look forward to receiving your prompt response.

Yours faithfully,
John Kinory
