Sample Answer:

In recent years, extreme sports such as sky diving and skiing have become increasingly popular, while they involve a high degree of risk. Some people believe that these activities should be banned due to the potential danger they bring. This essay will discuss the arguments for and against the banning of extreme sports, before concluding that the potential risks should be managed and monitored, rather than the activities being banned outright.

On the one hand, there are some compelling arguments in favour of extreme sports being prohibited. Firstly, it could be argued that the danger involved in these activities is simply too great, and that it is irresponsible to allow people to risk their lives in this way. Furthermore, it could be argued that these dangerous sports are a waste of vital healthcare resources, as people who are injured while engaging in these activities require medical treatment which could be put to better use elsewhere.

On the other hand, there are a number of reasons why extreme sports should not be banned. Firstly, it could be argued that for many people, the thrill and excitement of these activities is an important part of their lives, and banning them would be a great loss. Furthermore, it could be argued that the risks associated with these activities can be managed and minimised, for example by ensuring that people wear the correct safety equipment and are properly trained before engaging in extreme sports.

In conclusion, while there are some compelling arguments in favour of banning extreme sports, I believe that the risks associated with these activities can be managed and minimised, and that people should be allowed to make their own decisions about whether or not they want to engage in these activities. Therefore, rather than banning extreme sports outright, the potential risks should be monitored and managed in order to ensure that people can enjoy these activities safely.
