A new, large shopping center is an amen of progress and development of any neighborhood, specially my one. This suggests that the neighborhood has attain certain development the locals can now afford a shopping center. This is because the shopping center’s developer makes adequate analysis of past, present and projected future growth rates of the neighborhood before making the final decision. They do enough research on financial viability, since they need to invest plenty of money to build the shopping center. Although building a large shopping center is a double edged sword as it has both the good and bad impact, I, however, believe that a large shopping center would be boon for our neighborhood.
To commence with, people who hold the opposite view might contend that a large shopping center can causes various problems like traffic congestion, extinction of local park, and above all the neighborhood losses its residential charms. They expose their premonition that lots of people will come to the shopping center and which by consequence will make the streets busy and sometimes will bring gridlock to much of the neighborhood. They also argue that shopping centers very often occupy the only park of the neighborhood. Thereby, kids have no place left for playing. Finally, they infer that the neighborhood may no longer remain a healthier place to live due to overcrowd, noise and so on.
On the flip side, it goes without saying that a shopping center would provide people with various daily necessities and make their life more convenient. A shopping center would offer multitude of options, since there would be a pool of stores selling umpteen kinds of products. In addition, shopping centers, these days, are also a considerable entertainment zone. It includes movie theaters as well as restaurants and food-court add extra mileage. Just imagine that you are exhausted coming back from work and find your refrigerator empty, or you need to buy something in a hurry, or you need to select a nice restaurant for family reunion in the vicinity of your home. No doubt, these all problems could be solved in the blink of eyes if near your residence there is a shopping center.
Likewise, a shopping center would also foster the economic condition of a neighborhood. To be more specific, a shopping center creates more job opportunities for the locals directly and indirectly. Initially, these jobs would be in the constructing of the center. Later the jobs would be in the stores, restaurants, food court, theaters and so forth. Therefore, the unemployment crisis could be curbed by building a large shopping center. Similarly, it also makes the pave of business opportunity for the community. The local people can be owner of the store and thus can develop the financial condition. Consequently, the purchasing capacity of the local people enhances to a great extent and they can lead a cozy life than before.
In fine, although there are few drawbacks of a large shopping center, it caters numerous benefits to the community. Based on the above discussion, I would like have a large shopping center in our neighborhood. I believe that the advantages of a shopping center outweigh its limitations.
