Sample Answer:
The educational system of many countries requires young people to remain in school until the age of 18. However, there are some who believe that 14 years is long enough. This essay will discuss both sides of the argument and conclude with my opinion.
On the one hand, some people support the idea that children should stay in school until they are 18 years old. They argue that this will give them the opportunity to gain knowledge that they may not have been exposed to earlier. During this time, they can develop their skills in critical thinking, problem-solving and communication, which are all important skills to have in the modern world. Furthermore, they have more time to choose a career and develop the skills necessary for that profession. This can lead to young people having greater control over their future and achieving more success in the long run.
On the other hand, there are those who argue that 14 years of schooling is sufficient. They argue that spending more time in school can lead to students becoming bored, frustrated and unmotivated. As a result, they are not getting the most out of their education and may not develop the skills necessary for the real world. Furthermore, spending more time in school can be seen as a waste of time and resources, as young people could be better utilizing this time to gain work experience or pursue other interests.
In my opinion, I believe that 14 years of schooling is enough, as long as young people have the opportunity to gain the skills and knowledge necessary for the modern world. This can be done through vocational courses, internships and apprenticeships, which can provide hands-on experience and teach young people practical skills. Furthermore, this can give them an advantage in the job market, as they will have more to offer employers. However, I do believe that there should be a greater emphasis on providing young people with the opportunity to gain the necessary skills and knowledge, as opposed to simply extending their time in school.
In conclusion, although some people believe that children should stay in school until the age of 18, I believe that 14 years is sufficient, provided there are other opportunities available to gain the necessary skills and knowledge.
