Your neighbours have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your houseflat.
Write a letter to your neighbours. In your letter
- explain the reasons for the noise
- apologise
- describe what action you will take
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Neighbour,
I am sorry to hear that you have been disturbed by noise from my house/flat. There are a number of reasons for this which I will explain below.
Firstly, I would like to apologise for any inconvenience that you have experienced. I can assure you that I am taking steps to reduce the noise levels.
The main reason for the noise is that I have recently had some building work carried out. This has involved some heavy machinery and has been going on for some time. I am sorry for the disturbance but the work should be finished soon.
In the meantime, I have asked the builders to try to keep the noise to a minimum and I am also taking measures to reduce the noise levels myself. I hope that this will be satisfactory and that you will not be too disturbed in the future.
