IELTS General Writing Task 1 with sample answer.
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
During a recent visit to your home, your friend forgot something at your place. Write a letter to your friend explaining the situation. In your letter you have to mention:
- what your friend forgot
- where the item is now
- a proposed arrangement to return the item
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Laura,
Hope this mail will find you in sound health. I have to thank you for the great weekend that you dazzled with your accompany. It transcended me to those golden days of our campus life we had.
However, I am writing this to let you know that you have left you pen drive. I do not know whether you have noticed it or not. I just have found it in the guest room immediately after your leave. I kept the device to my mother as I am not always available at my home.
I know there is important information in the device that you need utterly. In that case, you can take it from my home at any time any day. If you are busy, then I can send it to your place. Let me know which arrangement fits you.
Give my best regard to your family. Keep in tune.
