Sample Answer:

Nowadays, there is a continuous debate regarding the extent to which young people should adhere to the traditional values of their society or be free to express themselves as individuals. In my opinion, it is essential to strike a balance between the two.

On the one hand, it is beneficial for young people to follow the traditions of their society as this gives them a sense of identity and belonging. By learning about the culture and customs of their ancestors, young people can gain an understanding of how the society has evolved and how their actions can shape its future. In addition, this can help them to establish a strong connection with their community and foster a sense of pride. For example, in India, many young people take part in traditional festivals which bring people together and promote inter-cultural harmony.

On the other hand, it is equally important for young people to be able to express themselves as individuals. This is because it allows them to learn and grow as individuals, as well as develop important interpersonal and problem-solving skills. For example, giving young people the freedom to explore their own interests and pursue their own dreams can lead to positive outcomes such as increased productivity and creativity, which can benefit the society as a whole.

In conclusion, I believe it is important to strike a balance between the two perspectives. On one hand, young people should be exposed to the traditions of their society and on the other hand, they should be allowed to exercise their own individuality. This way, they can learn about the social norms and values of their society, while also developing the skills needed to be successful in life.
