Sample Answer:

Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to report to you that my ID card has stolen on 3rd August. My name is Sultan Mahmud and I come from Bangladesh. Last month I have arrived as an overseas student and I am currently studying Philosophy at Sydney University.

I have lost my ID card at Seven Hills Railway Station when I commuted to my university on the above mentioned date. The incident has taken place around 9 am while I was about to catch the train. A girl snatched away my bag when I stepped in the train. The whole incident happened in blink of eyes that I could not stop him as she ran away so quickly. I just remember that her blond hair was straight and pulled back into a low pony-tail. However, there were several books, wallet and the ID card.

The ID card number was SU23680 and it was issued on 5th July, 2015. I would be hugely appreciative if you provide me with necessary information on how I can obtain a new ID card. Please let me know the procedure of obtaining a new card and I am ready to pay the cost for replacement card if necessary.

Yours faithfully,
John Doe
