You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
An English-speaking friend is coming to study in your town next year and has written asking for information and advice.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
- offer to find a place for him / her to live
- give advice about how to find a part-time job
- give information on where he / she can learn your language
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:

Dear Michael,
It was great to get your letter. I’m thrilled to hear you wish to come my town next year for study. Finally, you have made a right decision. This is because, my town is renowned for tertiary education. Apart from this, the modest living cost and part-time job facilities are conducive for anyone trying to study here.
Anyway, I’m always here to give any assistance you need regarding residence and job. I think it would good if you rent a flat of the apartment complex I live in right now. Not only is it reasonable, but it is near to the bus stoppage and you can easily use the public transports. I think the accommodation here suits your budget. And you need not to worry about part-time job. I can arrange a suitable job for you as I’ve years of experience of part-time job here. For that, you have to learn French first. But don’t worry my friend. There is a French Cultural Centre in our area where you can easily learn the language. Most importantly, here you can be acquainted with the French culture would worthwhile for both your study and job. That’s all for now, my friend.
