Dear Sir or Madam,
IELTS GT Writing Task 1 – Sample Answer:
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Anthony Miller, a senior executive at Hampsherry Ltd, writing to express my dissatisfaction about some arrangements at the Maybeem hotel where we stayed during a meeting that was organised by your organisation.
Now regarding the meeting that we attended – it was the annual meeting that our company executives attend every year. This year, our stakeholders attended the meeting, and they talked about our plans for the next year’s production and sales. It was a day-long meeting that was attended by more than 120 employees and executives.
Now the meeting was a great success, but I am afraid I cannot say the same about the hotel where I stayed. I checked in, as instructed, the day before and stayed two nights there. I had a higher expectation from the hotel, but the experience was disappointing. The room where I stayed had a bad odor, and the heating system was inadequate. As a consequence, I could not sleep well at night. I lodged complaints with customer care, but nothing was done about it.
Now that you were in charge of choosing the hotel and managing everything about the meeting, I hope and expect that you would talk to the hotel manager regarding this. Also, please make sure, next time you book a better hotel that has better room quality.
Thank you in advance.
Yours faithfully,
Anthony Miller
