IELTS GT Writing Task 1 – Sample Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am Andy Clifton, a regular visitor of your movie theatre at Graham Street, writing to inform you that I left a winter jacket at your theatre last Friday when I visited there with a couple of my friends to enjoy a film.

The jacket that I left is made of pure leather, and it is black. It is made by “Belstaff” and is quite new. It is a long winter jacket that goes below my ankle. I think one of the pockets of the jacket has a cardholder that has a credit card from the City Bank and a few of my visiting cards.

I went to your theatre with three of my friends to enjoy the evening show which started at 7:00 pm and ran for two hours. I sat at the East side of the theatre, and my seat number was EW-14A. I put my jacket on the handle of the seat and forgot to take it with me when I left the theatre.

I hope somebody has already found the jacket and delivered it o the lost and found section of the theatre. I would really appreciate it if you can give me an update about it. Just let me know a convenient time and I will come by to pick up the jacket myself.

Thank you in advance.

Yours faithfully,

Andy Clifton
