Many people visit museums when they travel to new places. Why do you think people visit museums?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Sample Answer:
Museums are the records of the past, souvenir of history and reflector of the present. By visiting a place one can observe the present, its people and living. But if anyone visits a museum one will get the chance to observe the past centuries. That is why if anyone travel to new places, most of the times they visited the museums, if that place have any.

Travelling is the classical mode of learning. Wise men of the past from Pythagoras to Plato, Aristotle to Ibn Batuta travelled a lot. It’s quite a pilgrimage for learning purpose. Nature and the world is a great book and through travelling one can read this and develop oneself. If anybody travels to new place one must make a visit to any surrounding museum. Because museums are the greatest book for historians, archeologists, anthropologists, sociologists and for any knowledge seekers.

The nice thing about museum is that any person can understand in their own way. It is in a way a great book and databank for all kinds of readers! For example if anyone make a visit to British Museum in London one will get the chance to observe so many things in a day. One will get the chance to explore records, signs and marks of different centuries. How people lived in the past, what they used, how they worked can be explored from the documents preserved in the museum.

Moreover, if anyone make a visit to a museum one will be able to have a overview of the human progress, from where we have come here and we can show our respect and tribute to our ancestors and forefathers by that. That is why people like to visit museums when they visit to a new place.

To wrap up, museums bridge the past and the present. It is a great source of knowledge. Nowhere can you find plenty of information than in museums. Therefore, people tend to visit museums for seeking knowledge and information mostly.
