To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Sample Answer:
It is a well-known fact that luck plays an integral role in a person’s life, and whether or not a person achieves their aims in life is a subject of much debate. While some people may feel that luck is the sole determinant of success, I would argue that a combination of hard work, determination, and luck is more likely to result in achievement.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that luck can be a major factor in determining success. For example, winning the lottery means that an individual has been lucky enough to pick the right numbers without having to put forth any effort. Also, when it comes to career advancement, there are some cases where a person may land a desirable position due to luck rather than merit. For instance, if a person’s parents have connections to a high-powered executive, they may be able to secure a job offer despite having limited qualifications.
On the other hand, it is generally agreed that hard work and determination are more likely to produce success. For example, if a person wants to become a successful entrepreneur, they must put in the effort to come up with a viable business plan, secure investors, and put in the hard work to ensure that the business succeeds. Similarly, if a person wants to become a professional athlete, they must have the discipline to train on a regular basis and have the dedication to make the necessary sacrifices to become the best.
In conclusion, it can be seen that luck does play a role in a person’s success, but it is only part of the equation. Hard work and determination are also essential elements for success, and if a person is able to combine these traits with a bit of luck, they are more likely to achieve their goals and aspirations.
