A university plans to develop a new research center in your country. Some people want a center for business research. Other people want a center for research in agriculture (farming). Which of these two kinds of research centers do you recommend for your country?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Research, in common parlance, refers to the systematized effort to attain new knowledge. In the modern era, universities establish research centres in order to take the nation to the next level. But, when it comes to point that whether a centre for business research or for research in agriculture, people are split in their opinions. Some people contend that centre for business research would be worthwhile for our country, while others refute the notion. In the instance, I believe that an agricultural research centre is more essential than a centre for business research for any countries like Bangladesh.
Firstly, the importance of a research centre for agriculture needs no elaboration. The enhanced productivity in all sectors of agriculture is a dire need of the nation to cater the increasing demand of the growing population. There is a growing concern among the policy makers about how to meet the demand of the growing population in future when our natural resource is being shrunk. And it goes without saying that effective researches would the key instrument for enhancing productivity to cope with future demand. An agricultural research centre, therefore, is a sensible response to the necessity of Bangladesh.
Secondly, agriculture is the human enterprise which is most susceptible to the climate change. Subsistence farming in our country is particularly vulnerable, as small farmers do not have adequate resources to cope with the climate change. So, research should be conducted on how to adapt to the climate change with limited resources. Apart from that, research could make a breakthrough in the method of agriculture that would reduce the emission and mitigate the atmospheric accumulation of greenhouse gases. So, in order to devise an eco-efficient agricultural production, we need to conduct many researches. To this end, a centre for research in agriculture is the first priority of our nation.
All in all, agriculture has had a ripple effect on the whole nation as agriculture plays a pivotal role in national economy, food security, and so on. In a developing country like ours, improving agriculture is crucial for meeting the challenges of poverty, hunger, and environmental degradation. In the case, a research centre would facilitate the development of agriculture is a crying need of our country right now.
