The universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sports activities as they give to their university libraries. I fully agree with this statement. It is known to all that a stout mind rests in a stout body. Those who are physically weak can’t tolerate hard mental stress. Our body is a great discipline, and one must have control over it if one to authorise control over one’s surrounding!
There is no denying the fact in this saying that education is the harmonious development of the body, mind and soul. Libraries are to enable us with enough tools to equip ourselves facing psychological stress and trauma. Hence sports activities allow our bodies to face hard challenges. ‘Sports’ is a discipline, and it has specific codes and conduct. When somebody plays any game s/he must know those rules, obey and apply them. By that way they actually let their brain work in that process as well. I think body and mind work together most in sports than anything else.
Sports develop competitiveness and brotherhood as well which can be applied in other sectors of one’s life. There are so many brilliant guys in the arena of sports who are successful in other sectors in life as well. Shachin Tendulkar, Rojer Federar, Christiano Ronaldo are some of the many sportsmen who are successful in all sectors of life. Sportsmanship is a quality which one can use in academic life as well. Sports keeps us fit, keeps us healthy. In today’s world, most of the people across the globe are suffering from different diseases which cannot be tackled merely with hospitals and medicine, they must be resisted and sports can enable the resistance to the best of its level.
From what has been discussed above, it could be concluded that sports are of immense importance. Sports activities are a complement to academic activities. Therefore, universities should allow the same amount of money to sports activities as they give to libraries.
