IELTS Academic Writing Task 1: Sample Answer
The diagram given shows the different parts of a coffee making machine. As is seen, there are almost 10 different parts present in a coffee maker.
At the top of the coffee maker there are pouring spout which is used to pour the coffee. Power light indicator is placed at the back of the pouring spot which indicates the power when the coffee maker is connected to an electric source. The overflow tube is below the power indicator and it is used to flow the extra coffee from the machine. Paper filler screen is usually white and has a cylindrical shape which is connected to the water boiling compartment and is covered with metal filter. The grinding blade is placed between the paper and metal filter and looks like a thin small stick. The paper filter is used to filter the smaller coffee grounds while the metal one is used to filter out the larger grounds of coffee. Water boiling compartment is the largest part of the coffee maker and is has an oval shape. This part comprises the water for boiling. A curved handle is placed behind the boiling compartment for a convenient grip by the user. Power cable below it is sued to connect the machine to the electricity and the heating element at the bottom the machine is used for boiling the water and making the coffee.
