Sample Answer:

Nowadays, it is widely recognized that curriculum should not be static and should be able to accommodate changes in order to meet the challenges that arise due to economic and technological developments. This essay will discuss the advantages of this approach and make an argument that having a flexible curriculum is the best way to educate students.

To begin with, a curriculum based on a static body of knowledge is unlikely to keep up with the rapid advances of technology and the changing needs of the economy. For instance, in the past, people were able to secure jobs in industries such as manufacturing, which are no longer as prominent as they used to be. Therefore, instead of focusing on outdated knowledge, a curriculum should teach students the skills to be able to adapt to the changing landscape of the job market. This could include teaching skills such as coding and project management which are essential for a modern economy.

Furthermore, a curriculum which is able to adjust to the changing needs of students is more likely to be engaging and motivating. Students are more likely to be interested in learning when the content is relevant to their lives and experiences. For example, a curriculum which changes to focus on topics such as environmental issues or global affairs is likely to be more engaging than a curriculum which is based on a set of predetermined topics.

Finally, a curriculum which is able to adapt to the changing needs of students is also more likely to be effective. It is important that students are given the opportunity to engage with their learning in meaningful ways. Being able to adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of the student is an effective way of doing this. For example, a curriculum which adapts to a student’s interests or skills is more likely to be successful than a curriculum which is based on a fixed set of topics.

In conclusion, having a flexible curriculum is the best way to educate students. Not only is it more likely to keep up with the rapid changes of technology and the economy, but it is also more engaging and effective. Therefore, I fully agree that the best curriculum is one which teaches students to cope with change.
