Nowadays, there is a debate about whether schools should primarily reward students with the best academic results or students with other types of success. In my opinion, both should be appreciated, but with different forms of recognition, depending on the type of achievement.
On one hand, it is important to recognize students with the highest academic results, because it encourages them to work harder and pushes them to do their best. Furthermore, this type of reward can motivate those who are not doing so well to improve their effort and dedication. As a result, it is easy to see why it is important for schools to recognize academic success.
On the other hand, it is also essential to reward students who have achieved success in other areas, such as sports, music, and good behaviour. This type of recognition is great because it encourages students to pursue activities outside of the classroom and develop their skills in areas that may not be included in the school curriculum. It also creates an inclusive environment where all students feel appreciated, regardless of their academic results.
In my opinion, both types of success should be celebrated. Schools should recognize students with the highest academic results with a certificate or a medal, while those with other successes should be rewarded with a special event or an award ceremony. This way, all students will feel appreciated and motivated to reach their goals.
