Nowadays, it is important to be aware of the news both in one’s own country and globally, and there are different opinions as to which is more important. This essay will explore both points of view before coming to a conclusion.
On the one hand, some people believe that it is more important to focus on news from one’s own country. This is because news from one’s homeland is likely to have a direct effect on the individual’s life. For example, the outcome of a national election is likely to have a direct impact on the rights an individual has and the taxes they pay. Furthermore, people may be more emotionally invested in news from their own country which would lead to a better understanding of the issues and a stronger connection with the information.
On the other hand, there are those who feel that it is more important to follow international news. This is because, in an increasingly interconnected world, events from abroad can have a strong effect on people’s lives. For example, the decisions of foreign governments can have a direct impact on the economy and the currency of one’s own country. In addition, knowledge of international news provides a better understanding of the world as a whole and can give people a greater appreciation of different cultures.
In my opinion, it is essential to be aware of both national and international news. People should have a basic understanding of news from their own country in order to be able to make informed decisions about issues that will directly affect them. Furthermore, international news should also be followed, as it provides a greater understanding of the world and can help people to be more open-minded.
