Sample Answer:

Nowadays, there is much debate over which educational system is more beneficial for students; whether they should specialise in one subject from a young age, or study a wide range of subjects. In this essay, I shall discuss both sides of this argument before giving my own opinion.

On the one hand, some believe that it is beneficial for students to specialise in one subject from the age of fifteen. This allows them to become experts in the field and focus their attention on one area of study. Furthermore, this can be beneficial for those students who have a specific career in mind, as they can tailor their education to suit the job requirements. For example, students who wish to become medical doctors can choose to study biology and chemistry from an early age, rather than studying a wide range of subjects.

On the other hand, some people argue that it is important for students to study a wide range of subjects. This allows them to become well-rounded individuals who have knowledge in many different areas. Furthermore, studying a wide range of subjects can be beneficial for those students who are unsure of what they want to do in the future. It gives them the opportunity to explore different topics and discover their interests, as well as giving them the opportunity to gain skills from a variety of disciplines.

In my opinion, I believe that a combination of the two systems is most beneficial for students. I think that it is important for students to specialise in one subject from the age of fifteen, as this will allow them to gain a deep understanding of the subject and become experts in the field. However, I also believe that it is important for students to study a wide range of subjects, as this will give them the opportunity to explore different topics and gain knowledge from a variety of disciplines.

To conclude, while some people believe that it is beneficial for students to specialise in one subject from a young age, or study a wide range of subjects, I believe that a combination of the two systems is the most beneficial for students. This will allow them to become experts in their chosen field, as well as giving them the opportunity to explore different topics and gain knowledge from a variety of disciplines.
