In recent years, the conservation of wild animals has been a controversial issue, as some people believe that resources should be dedicated to their protection, while others think that these funds are better spent on people. This essay will discuss both points of view before providing my own opinion.
On the one hand, protecting wild animals from extinction is of utmost importance. For example, species such as the giant panda, which only exist in certain areas of the world, are at risk of being wiped out forever. Moreover, wild animals play an important role in the balance of the environment, and their disappearance could affect the food chain and create an imbalance. For these reasons, it is essential to dedicate resources to their protection.
On the other hand, it could be argued that resources should be used to improve the lives of human beings. For example, in underdeveloped countries, people are struggling with poverty, lack of access to clean water and adequate medical care. Investing in these areas would without doubt make a difference to the lives of many people. Furthermore, in developed countries, resources could be used to improve education and infrastructure.
In my opinion, resources should be split between both causes. Protecting wild animals is essential for maintaining the balance of the environment, but at the same time, it is equally important to invest in human beings in order to improve their quality of life. In this way, it would be possible to find a balance between the two.
In conclusion, I believe that resources should be divided between protecting wild animals and helping the human population. This would ensure the preservation of the environment, as well as the improvement of the quality of life of many people.
