Secondary School Attendance

Sample Answer:
The supplied table data presents information on the percentage of students who attended four types of secondary school over a 10 years period from 2000 to 2009. Overall, voluntary- controlled schools had more than half of the total students initially in 2000 but over time the students started preferring community schools over other kinds of secondary schools.

As is observed from the given table data, initially in the year 2000, voluntary-controlled schools had more than half of the students while grammar schools had almost one-quarter secondary students. Two other types of schools namely, specialist schools and community schools type each had 12% of total secondary level pupils. After 5 years the percentage shoed some changes. While voluntary-controlled schools started getting fewer students (38%), community schools started getting far more students (32%) than this type of schools had 5 years earlier. Finally in 2009, community schools had more than half of total secondary level pupils which was highest proportion among the given school types. In this year, special schools and grammar schools received only 10 and 12 percent students consecutively while voluntary-controlled schools received 20% student, which was second largest in this in this year but far less than it was in 2000.
