IELTS Academic Writing Task 1: Sample Answer

The given illustration depicts the process of electricity production from water. As is observed from the given diagram, sea and rain water is first reserved and then passed through a turbine to produce electricity.

According to the given diagram, sea water is evaporated and transform in to rain and the rain pour is reserved in a reservoir. This reservoir is connected with the dam and a valve is used to control the flow of water from dam to the turbine. The turbine is placed below the reservoir and electric stations are connected with high voltage cables with the turbine. When the valve of the dam is opened, the water rapidly flows to the turbine and from their though a pump. In fact the reservoir, turbine and pump creates a loop of water flow and this rapid flow of water generates electricity which is then passed to the transformer stations. Underground cables are used to connect the houses, factories, schools, hospitals and other places where electricity is required to be supplied.
