Sample Answer:
Plato made the excellent remark that it is the most trivial things that people buy with their lives. Yes, I do believe that people, even if they are submerged with utmost important issues, are got attracted by petty issues in life. With the technological advancement and economic growth, the more man is capable to accomplish exalted tasks, the more he is busy with insignificant things. In the following, I would like to provide some reasons to support my point of view.
There is a huge development technologically in the field of information and communication over the last decade. Man is now able to communicate and share information with others no matter what the distance is, and can do it in the blink of an eye. They now can make a huge worldwide circle for campaigning against global warming with help of several social networking sites. They can create awareness about climate change. In this way, they can contribute to mitigating greenhouse gas effects. But what are they doing? The irony is they are spending hours after hours on surfing internet chatting with friends, watching movies, playing video game, and so on. They spend huge bit coin on gaming, whereas with this money they can support pauper people around them. From my personal experience, my cousin spends huge bit coins on gaming, whereas, there is a slum where people are living in an appalling conditions of hunger and disease. He is simply indifferent and does not help them despite being able.
Similarly, hundreds of thousands of people around the globe live in extreme poverty. These unfortunate people need support from the rich people. They need in food and water, and in shelter. But the wealthy people spend their money for nothing. They buy luxury items, expensive dress and jewelries. For example, while children in Africa are suffering from drought, disease, and pandemic poverty, in America, children of the wealthy families are worried about their sports car that has to be expensive than other friends. They compete with each other in such unnecessary things, while many people live amid stark poverty that they do not even have any shelter to live in. if the wealthy people have slight sympathy for poor people, then the issue of poverty would melt away in no time.
To conclude, most things that people do in life are completely trivial, things that do not matter. The irony is that technology and economic growth make them so powerful that they can fix many pressing problems, like poverty and climate change, but they are dealing only with petty affairs.
