Sample Answer:

It is often claimed that people living in the 21st century have a higher quality of life than their predecessors. While it may be true that modern technology has the potential to improve life expectancy and access to resources, I believe that this assertion is an over-simplification of the situation.

On the one hand, there is no denying that advancements in healthcare and technology have improved the quality of life for many people living in the 21st century. For instance, medical treatments are far more advanced and successful than ever before, with new medical discoveries allowing people to live longer and healthier lives. In addition, modern technology has made the world more connected and accessible than ever before, allowing people to communicate with people from all over the world and access a huge range of resources.

On the other hand, I would argue that the improved living standards of the 21st century are not available to everyone. For example, there are still many people living in poverty and without access to basic resources such as clean water and healthcare. This means that many people in developing countries are still unable to benefit from modern technology and resources, and their quality of life remains relatively low. Furthermore, the gap between the wealthy and the poor is increasing, meaning that the quality of life for some people is far lower than those in more affluent countries.

In conclusion, while it is true that modern technology has greatly improved the living standards of many people living in the 21st century, there are still many people who are unable to benefit from these advances. Therefore, I believe that it is an oversimplification to suggest that everyone living in the 21st century has a higher quality of life than their predecessors.
