Some believe that people are naturally born as leaders while others feel that leadership skills can develop
Discuss both views and give your own opinion.
Leadership is an essential skill in any profession and is often used to differentiate successful individuals from those who are less successful. There is a great deal of debate regarding whether this quality is inherent or can be acquired. This essay will discuss both of these positions before concluding with a personal opinion.
On the one hand, there are those who believe that people are born to be leaders. They argue that leadership is a natural quality and that some individuals possess it from birth. This is represented by their ability to motivate and inspire others from a young age and to be able to make difficult decisions. Furthermore, certain psychological studies have shown that certain personality traits are common amongst successful leaders, indicating that these traits can be inherited.
On the other hand, there are those who feel that leadership is a skill that can be developed. This is because leadership involves a range of abilities such as communication, persuasion and problem-solving. These can be improved through practice and experience. Furthermore, there are numerous courses and workshops available to help individuals to improve their leadership skills.
In my opinion, I believe that both of these positions are valid. It is likely that some individuals are born with certain traits that make them good leaders, such as a strong sense of responsibility and empathy. However, it is also possible to develop these skills through practice and experience.
In conclusion, while some believe that people are naturally born as leaders, others feel that leadership skills can be developed. Personally, I think that both of these views have merit and that the ability to be a successful leader involves both natural traits and acquired skills.
