By working for themselves, individuals can set their own rates and prices, meaning they are no longer restricted to the wages of their employer. This offers the opportunity to earn much more money than they would in a traditional job. Furthermore, self-employed people are able to avoid paying taxes in the same way as salaried workers, meaning they can keep a larger proportion of their earnings.
