Sample Answer:

Theatres, music concerts and plays have long been a source of entertainment for people of all ages, yet in recent years the attendance of young people to such events has seen a decline. This essay will discuss why this is the case and suggest ways to encourage younger people to attend.

The main reason for the decrease in the attendance of young people to theatre, music concerts and plays is due to the wide variety of entertainment available on television and the internet. The internet has allowed people to access music, films and television series from all over the world at a fraction of the cost of attending an event, and in the comfort of their own home. As young people often have limited funds, they are more likely to opt for the cheaper alternative.

In addition, the availability of social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter, has given young people an additional platform to communicate and share their experiences with friends. This has meant that attending a live event is no longer an attractive option as the same experience can be enjoyed online.

If young people are to be encouraged to attend theatre, music concerts and plays, then the cost of tickets should be reduced. This will not only make them more affordable, but it will also bring more young people to the events. Furthermore, theatre and music groups should actively engage with young people through social media and create campaigns to promote the events. By encouraging young people to become involved, they will be more likely to attend the events.

In conclusion, the decline in the attendance of young people to theatre, music concerts and plays is mainly due to the availability of other forms of entertainment. To encourage young people to attend, ticket prices should be reduced and social media should be used to engage with them. If these measures are taken, then the attendance of young people to these events may increase.
