Sample Answer:

In recent years, violent movies and computer games have become popular amongst certain age groups, sparking debate about their effect on society. While some people believe such media should be censored due to their allegedly detrimental influence, others argue that they are simply harmless forms of relaxation. This essay will examine both sides of the argument before presenting a personal opinion.

On the one hand, some individuals are of the opinion that violent films and computer games should be restricted. This view is based on the notion that such media can cause individuals, particularly young people, to behave aggressively. It has been suggested that, by seeing and playing violent activities, people may become desensitised to their consequences – leading to an increase in violent crime in society. Furthermore, it has been argued that these forms of entertainment may encourage people to become increasingly intolerant and disrespectful of each other.

On the other hand, it is often argued that violent films and computer games are simply a harmless form of relaxation. It has been suggested that, as long as they are played in moderation, they can be beneficial to people’s emotional health. It has been argued that, by engaging in activities that involve violence, individuals can release any built-up frustrations. Furthermore, it has been suggested that, by playing these games, individuals can develop problem-solving skills, as well as hand-eye coordination and reaction times.

In conclusion, it appears that there are both positive and negative aspects to violent films and computer games. While it is true that such media can have a negative impact on society, it is also argued that they can be beneficial. Ultimately, I believe it is important to be aware of the potential dangers of such forms of entertainment, while also allowing individuals to have a degree of freedom to choose what they watch and play.
