It is true that many students find it challenging to remain focused during school hours. This could be attributed to various reasons, but most notably, issues related to the pupils’ environment, their physical state as well as the lack of motivation. This essay will discuss the underlying causes, as well as the approaches that can be adopted to mitigate this problem.
First and foremost, the environment in which students are expected to learn often plays a significant role in their ability to concentrate. If the classroom is too noisy, too warm, or even overcrowded, then it can be hard for pupils to focus on their work. Additionally, if the students’ chairs and desks are not comfortable, it is likely that their attention will drift and they will be unable to stay focused.
Furthermore, it is often the case that students experience distractions due to their physical state. For instance, if they are overly tired, hungry, or thirsty, they are likely to struggle to pay attention in class. Moreover, if they have been unwell recently, or if they are feeling unwell on the day, it is likely that they will not be able to concentrate effectively.
