Sample Answer:
Nowadays, it is widely accepted that the economic growth of a country is the primary goal for governments. However, there is an opposition among some people that other types of progress are equally important. This essay will discuss both these views and will put forward my own opinion.
To begin with, it is understandable that the economic progress of a country is considered to be the primary goal for governments. Economic growth brings about positive changes, such as increasing the GDP, creating more jobs, and increasing the standard of living. With this, countries can provide better services to their citizens, and build a strong foundation for their future. Furthermore, economic progress enables countries to become more competitive and to increase their global influence.
On the other hand, some people argue that other types of progress are just as important as economic growth. For example, a country should invest in its education system, by providing quality education and training to its citizens. This allows them to become skilled workers, which will lead to a better workforce and increase the country’s productivity. Additionally, it is important for a country to invest in its infrastructure, such as its roads, railways, and ports. This will ensure that the goods and services are produced and transported efficiently.
In my opinion, both economic progress and other types of progress are important for a country’s development. Without economic progress, a country cannot develop and provide services to its citizens. At the same time, other types of progress, such as education and infrastructure, are essential for the country to become competitive and to increase its global influence. Therefore, governments should aim to achieve both economic growth and other types of progress in order to ensure the country’s long-term success.
