Sample Answer:

Protecting wild animals has been a contentious issue for many years, with some people believing that it is essential to safeguard all species while others argue that only certain animals require defence. This essay will discuss both views before expressing a personal opinion.

To begin with, those who support the protection of all wild animals argue that species diversity is essential in sustaining the balance of nature. If certain animals are allowed to become extinct, the whole ecosystem can suffer as other organisms are deprived of their natural food sources or predators. Furthermore, many endangered animals are of intrinsic value and should not be allowed to disappear from the face of the earth. For example, the Bengal tiger is a symbol of India’s rich cultural heritage and should be preserved for future generations.

On the other hand, there are those who believe that not all wild animals should be protected from extinction. It is argued that some species are of little value to the environment and therefore resources should be focused on those organisms which are more beneficial to the planet. For example, if endangered bees were saved from extinction, they could be used to pollinate crops and produce honey, which would have a positive impact on the food supply. Furthermore, some species may not be suitable for captivity and it could be more humane to let them die out naturally.

In my opinion, I believe that it is important to protect all wild animals. Not only do species diversity and ecosystem balance depend on it, but also many animals are of great cultural and even economic value. For example, the giant panda is now a national symbol of China and brings in millions of dollars in tourism revenue. Furthermore, it is often difficult to determine which species are more valuable than others, so it is better to be safe than sorry and protect all of them.

In conclusion, there are two sides to this argument, with some people feeling that all animals should be safeguarded and others believing that only certain species should be protected. Personally, I think that all wild animals should be protected as it is often impossible to determine which ones are more important than others.
