Sample Answer:
The given illustration presents information about the major ways of writing in the world. Overall, the main systems of writing are divided in 5 major categories namely Logographic, Abjad, Abjuda, Alphabetic and Syllabic.
In the Logographic writing system one character represents one word. Chinese language uses the logographic writing system. This writing system could be used by languages (like Chinese & Japanese) which are different in their spoken forms. The next system of writing is called Abjad and in this system one character represents one consonant. Arabic language is an example of this writing system and this is also an example of a sound-based writing system. Another writing system that uses a character equals to one consonant plus one vowel is known as Abjuda and Indian Devanagari is an example of this writing classification. Alphabetic system is used in language like English in which one character denotes one sound and that can be wither vowel or consonant. For this type of language spelling and pronunciation do not match always and variation could often be observed. The final writing system is called Syllabic which denotes one character equals one syllable and Japanese Kana is an example of such writing system.
