IELTS Academic Writing Task 1: Sample Answer
The given table data presents information about the world literacy rates dividing them in six regions both male and female for six years period. As is observed from the given data, male has better literacy rates than female throughout the world and illiteracy rate in African and Asian religion was more than that of other parts of the world.
According to the given information, average world literacy rate from 1999 to 2004 was 82.2 percent while the male literacy rate was slightly more than 87% it was about 77% in case of female. African continents had the lowest literacy rate which was about 71% for male and only about 53% for female with an average literacy rate of 62.5%. Europe had the best literacy rate with an average of 98.8% where male and female literacy rates were far better than Asian and African continents. American male literacy rate was about 94% and female literacy rate was about 93%. Finally the literacy rate in Oceania region (93.45) was better than Asian continents (79.3%) but slightly worse than European and American region with about 93% literacy rate.
