Sample Answer:

Dear Sir or Madam,

The objective of this letter is to express my great dissatisfaction and to protest the establishment of new building on the Summerfield. The local council made an announcement that they are going to build an apartment complex of six-stories on the part. I strongly disagree to the plan, and so do my neighbours.

The reason I protest is it is the only of this suburb which will be devoured by the plan. It goes without saying that we desperately need the park for the wellbeing of our community. First and foremost, it helps keep our body fit. Let me elaborate a bit more. People can engage in some physical activities in the park that is ameliorating the obesity evidently in this neighbourhood. Secondly, children play may unstructured sports in the park which is crucial for developing their motor skills. Last but not the least, being a green space, the park caters substantial benefits to the environment of this area. Trees, for example, act as a natural air conditioner to aid to keep the neighbourhood cooler, alleviating the effects of concrete and glass that can transformed the area into oven under the summer sun. So, if the local council goes ahead to executing the plan, we would lose one of the most essential requirements in this sedentary lifestyle.

It, therefore, would be appreciated if you put forth the issue to the local council by writing editorial in your newspaper. I hope we will get you to save the only park we have in the area.

I look forward to seeing your sensible action.

Yours sincerely,
Harriet Wilson
