Sample Answer:
Nowadays, parents have different perspectives on giving their children the freedom to make their own decisions. While some support that it will lead to a society of individuals who only think about their own wishes, others argue that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them. This essay will discuss both sides and provide my own opinion.
On the one hand, some parents agree that allowing children to make their own choices on everyday matters such as food, clothes and entertainment can create a society of selfish people. They argue that when children are given freedom to make their own decisions, they will become more selfish as they will only think about their own wishes and desires. Furthermore, if children are not taught to think of others while making choices, they may not be able to make wise decisions. Thus, it is possible that such individuals may become more selfish and negligent in their actions.
On the other hand, some parents believe that it is important for children to make decisions about matters that affect them. They argue that giving children autonomy to make their own decisions will help them to develop their problem-solving skills and independence. In addition, giving children the opportunity to make their own decisions can help them to become more confident and responsible. Furthermore, allowing children to make their own choices can help them to learn from their mistakes and develop better decision-making abilities.
In my opinion, I believe that it is important to give children the freedom to make their own decisions. However, it is also important to ensure that they are taught the importance of considering others while making decisions. That is to say, parents should guide children to make wise decisions by helping them to think of the consequences of their choices. Moreover, parents should also instil in children the importance of being respectful and considerate towards others.
In conclusion, it is important to provide children with the opportunity to make their own decisions, however, it is also important that they are taught to be responsible and considerate when making decisions.
