In some countries, teenagers have jobs while they are still students. Do you think this is a good idea?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Sample Answer:
Adolescence is the crucial period of time when carefree children turn to responsible adults. After all, this is the aim of teens to develop into mature, productive, and responsible members of the society. A good idea for assisting this transition is getting engage in part-time job. A job can help them better develop their work experience, builds confidence, engages in constructive activities, and finally helps teens to become a responsible man.

To start with, teens can obtain valuable work experiences, which are excellent for future career. They can develop their various personal skills. Youngsters can learn how handle a customer. They can be acquainted with corporate culture. They, most importantly, can learn how to accomplish a task within the deadline and how to work in a team directed to a common goal. Thus, a teen can gather the valuable experiences that not only rich his Curriculum Vita but develops his overall skills as well.

Secondly, the job builds confidence, and develops a sense of responsibility and independence. Doing part-time job, teens can learn how capable they are which build their confidence and self-reliance. Naturally, this would help them feel more independent and instill a sense of responsibility as a young adult.

Thirdly, the job provides a productive use of free time. Teens who might otherwise be idle, have something good to do in their hours after school. Employers usually provide a sort of adult supervision for teen workers, and they can be busy with a productive activity beyond their school works. That is to say that keeping teen busy instead of idle might be the key to keeping them out from the troubles during the afternoon and evening.

Last but not the least, the job offers teens a healthy transition to adulthood. With a job, a youngster is able to better practice freedom and self-independence. In fact, holding down a job is a crucial stepping stone to adulthood.
From what has been discussed above, it could be easily said that part-time jobs can be a wonderful experience. Building experience, self-reliance and constructive use of free time lead teens to the right path of adulthood.
