It is more important to study science and technology than to study the arts and humanities.

Sample Answer:
The question ‘whether it is more important to study science and technology over studying arts and humanities’ has sparked a heated debate. In many circles, it is affirmed that science and technology have more necessity and importance than arts and humanities, while others negate the notion. However, in my opinion, it is very crucial to have all fields of knowledge to survive and success in today’s competitive world. Because science and technology has become an indispensable part of modern life on the one hand, and arts and humanities offers the knowledge on how to deal with the world we live in and aesthetic part of the human life.
To start with, we cannot imagine a single day without science and technology. It has pervaded in every aspect of life. With the help of science and technology, we can do everything. Therefore, in such a situation we need technical knowledge to function in this current world. For that, the core knowledge of technology is science and mathematics must be acquired. Besides, I think that there are more job opportunities for technically sound persons rather than arts and humanity degree holders. Here, I would like to give an example from my experience. My younger brother has completed graduation in computer science and he has got a modest job. On the other hand, there is scarcity of job for me as I have completed my post graduation in literature. This comparison shows a clear picture of the job market the dominance of science and technology in practical world.
On the other hand, the fact is that we have the science and technology we need right at this moment. The problems in the contemporary worlds that we face are due to the fact that we do not know how to properly use the blessing of the science and technology. Through science we can learn critical, logical and analytical reasoning and natural order of the world as well. Then why do we need arts and humanities? I firmly contend that we need to learn arts and humanities. Otherwise we will end up with things like the atomic bomb and even dangerous weapons to destroy the whole world. I want to say that like everything else, science has also bright and dark sides. Science offers us knowledge which is our power and part of life and on the other hand arts and humanities give us wisdom that is own will power to control. We do need wisdom in the application of scientific knowledge. Therefore, there is no way to ignore arts and humanities.
From what has been discussed above, it can be easily concluded that we need both the science and technology and arts and humanities to live sustainably. In fact, they complement one another; that is to say that one is incomplete without other.
