Sample Answer:
The most essential quality for a student to success in life is perseverance. It is that very trait which is possessed by all the successful students. Perseverance denies to give up the pursuit of goal despite of adverse situation. It is the ability to see failure as a great lesson and empowers the student to endeavor again and again until the learning goal is achieved. Perseverant students know the worth of hard work, hones their problem-solving competence, and take the responsibility of their own academic and other progresses.

Perseverance is an attitude that dictates a student to keep trying and work hard to accomplish academic success. It is the trait that stimulates the student on working hard until reaching the target, despite the obstacles. Nothing can impede the progress of a perseverant student. He knows that life is not a bed of roses. So, he keeps working on his target and eventually he is rewarded by his perseverance.

There is a proverb that failure is the pillar of success. A perseverant student knows very well that success lies at the heart of failure. Every failure teaches him precious lesson. Every failure makes him an enthusiastic learner and he thus learns new things very fast. No failure can instigate him to give up his mission. We have many exemplary figures in the book of human history who had been able to contribute greatly for mankind just for their perseverant characteristic. Take the great inventor Thomas Alva Edison for example; he failed thousand times to come out with the right kind of light bulb. He uttered the famous saying that “I have not failed. I have just found 10,000 ways that won’t work”. Thus perseverance is the key power of success.

On the same token, another offshoot of perseverance is hard work. Perseverance makes a student arduous. Which by consequence, he can sharp his problem-solving skills. In addition, when a student is driven by perseverance, he can take the responsibility of his academic destination. For instance, I was weak in math in my early school days. I worked hard on math. Many times I could not solve problems, but I did not give up, I kept trying to solve math problems and at the end I solved all the tough problems and finally, I killed my math exams. More importantly, from my experience, I can tell you that perseverance does not make a student to be procrastinator.
In fine, there are many crucial aspects a successful student must have. But I would like to say that perseverance is the utmost important trait of a successful student.
