IELTS Academic Writing Task 1: Sample Answer

The graph compares the working hours and annual salary of four professionals namely nurse, police, fire service and teacher. As is presented in the illustration professional Nurses work for more hours than other professionals while polices have the highest annual salary.

As is observed from the given data, Nurses work for more than 55 hours per week which is higher than other professions compared. The least working hours per week belongs to teachers which is only 30 hours per week. Polices and fire service professionals have around 35-40 working hours in a week.

In case of salary, police earn more than other professionals. They get more than 52 thousand pounds per year compared to 33,600 and 37,450 pounds for teachers and nurses respectively. Thought the fire service men work slightly more hours than polices, their annual salaries are about 3 thousand less than police officers. Teachers’ salaries per year are the lowest and nurses get comparatively less salary though their working hours per week are more than other professionals.
