The given graph depicts the percentage of old people worldwide in 2000 and also gives projection for the year 2050. The Y axis shows the percentage of aged population who aged 60 or more while the X axis shows the six major regions of the world plus the average of the world. Overall, the aged population would dramatically increase in 2050 than that of 2000 and Europe would have the largest percentage of old people.

As is seen in the given illustration, 10% population of the world is either 60 or more years old. The highest percentages of such old population in 2020 were in Europe (about 20%), North America (about 17%), Oceania (about 155). These percentages in other regions like Latin America, Asia and Africa were less than 10%.
It is predicted that the old population in the world would dramatically increased in the year 2050 when the world’s approximate 23% population would be over 59 years old.

In 2050 the Europe would have the largest percentage of such old people (35%). Oceania, North America, Latin America and Asia would have more than 20% old people. The least percentage of this population segment would be in Africa with less than 15%.
