IELTS General Writing Task 1 with sample answer.
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
Write a letter to your friend from a different country. Invite him/her to a party at your home and include the following:
- What is the party about?
- Give directions how to get to your place.
- Suggest how to accommodate him/her.
You should write at least 150 words.
Sample Answer:
Dear Sarah,
I hope this letter finds you well. We have not seen each other for ages and I really missed you.
I hope you are in a party mode as Jack and I are going to celebrate our fourth wedding anniversary on 1th of August so we would be glad if you could come to our party.
Let me give you my new address and some directions. There is a subway station within walking distance of my new place. So, when you arrived you need to take a taxi to the nearest subway station and then please get in subway line 2 and get off in the Smith Station. After exist, on the right corner of the Rose Street, there is a library, take that way and after pass three blocks, you will see my home. It is a white house which has four floors with plenty of big green windows.
As my new home has a spare room, Jack and I will be happy if you stay with us during your trip, so we will have a great opportunity to spend more time together.
