IELTS General Writing Task 1 with sample answer.
You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You are due to move into a rented apartment next month but you will not be able to because you have some problems.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter:
- explain your situation
- describe your problems
- tell him/her when you think you can move in
You should write at least 150 words.
You do NOT need to write any address.
Begin your letter as follows:
Dear _ ,

Dear Miss Samantha,
Hope you are doing well. I am John Adam and I rented one of your suites from October 2015. The suite I rented is 2B and I was supposed to move in the first week of the month. However, due to some unavoidable circumstances I will not be able to move in due date.
Recently my office administration decided to send me to my head office which is situated in another city to manage a global conference and training session for about two weeks. This is an important and big opportunity for me and I would be fully focused on the conference and training session. As a result I will not be able to manage time to move in your apartment.
I hope I would move to your apartment on the end of the month. In the mean time I would request you to send me your bank account details so that I can deposit advance rent for two months before I go to the tour.
