Sample Answer:

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter in response to the letter dated 21st march, 2015. In the letter, you stated that my account has been overdrawn by $240 and would be charged $70 which would be taken directly from my account. But the information provided in the letter is not correct. Let me explain my end.

My name is Patrick D Costa and my account number is 0714561893. I have been operating the account for 5 years and I always keep minimum balance to maintain the account. In addition to this, I keep a record of all my debit and credit payments and the transaction that I made. Thereby, I checked all my records and I do not find any problem at my end.

So, I would like to request the bank personnel that they should counter-check the information. I also enclose the transaction record of last month hoping I would help you checking the information. I would also request you to find out the possible reasons for this mistake done from the bank’s end not to repeat it in the future.

Yours faithfully,
John Abraham
