Sample Answer:

Dear Sir,

I am Paul Hudson, a first year student, living in the room M-22 which is a two-seated room in your hostel. Anyway, I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction about the room I live in where I am encountering several issues that impact on my study severely.

To start with, the room is quite small to accommodate two beds that there is not enough space to walk, and even we have to share a common reading table. In addition, the ventilation facility is so poor that sun light and fresh air hardly get in. We have no option, but to turn on light 24 hours. Apart from that, my roommate snores loudly whenever he sleeps. In short, the whole ambience is so hostile that I am suffocating. As a result, I find it very difficult to concentrate attention on study.

I would be most grateful if you could allot me a single room with proper ventilation facility so that I can put concentration on study and attain a good score in the upcoming exam.

I look forward to seeing your positive response.

Yours faithfully,
Paul Hudson.

    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to express my dissatisfaction and discomfort that I have been going through with my current room. I would like to request for the new arrangement.

I am final year student, and I have my finals next month. However, I am unable to concentrate on my studies due to my roommate. Even though my roommate is a nice guy, but his certain behaviors, like noisy phone calls, loud music, and late night coming are having negative effects on my studies. Furthermore, he frequently brings his friends to our room and party with them till late night. I have tried several times to explain my situation to him, but still everything is same. I need to score good marks for my future employment, and I hope you will consider my request seriously.

If possible, I would like a single room. However, in case if it is not possible, I would like a roommate someone who is serious with his studies, preferably someone from the final year. Moreover, I would like a noise-free room, probably on the top floor without shared terrace or balcony.

I hope you will take the appropriate actions as early to your convenience.

I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.

    Yours faithfully,

    Pranay
