Nowadays, there is a debate about whether governments should invest in protecting minority languages or whether this is not a good use of resources. This essay will discuss both sides of this argument and provide a personal viewpoint.
On one hand, some people believe that governments should invest in preserving minority languages. This is mainly because minority languages can be seen as a form of cultural heritage, which should be preserved for future generations. In addition, it has been argued that protecting minority languages can help to promote cultural diversity, which can lead to a more tolerant and understanding society. Furthermore, preserving minority languages can also help to protect local customs and traditions, which may otherwise be lost.
On the other hand, some people feel that governments should not invest in preserving minority languages because it is not a good use of resources.
