Some feel that good entertainers are as important to society as scientists
To what extent do you agree or disagree?
Sample Answer:
Humankind has been captivated by entertainment from the time of ancient civilizations. In the modern world, entertainment in the form of movies, music and sports, is an integral part of our lives. However, the significance of entertainers in society has been a source of much debate. While some argue that entertainers are as important as scientists, I feel that the contribution made by scientists to the world cannot be compared to that of entertainers.
On the one hand, many people support the idea that entertainers are of equal importance to society as scientists. This is because entertainment is part of our culture, providing us with an escape from reality and a way to relax, enabling us to cope with the stresses of life. For example, movies and television enable us to connect emotionally with characters and stories, while music can evoke powerful feelings and help us express ourselves better. Furthermore, entertainers inspire us to work hard and dream big, providing us with role models to emulate.
On the other hand, I feel that scientists have an even greater impact on our lives than entertainers. Scientists are responsible for the numerous technological advances that have made our lives easier and safer. For instance, the discovery of antibiotics has allowed us to cure diseases that were once considered fatal, while the invention of the telephone has made it possible for us to communicate with people all over the world. Additionally, scientific achievements such as space exploration and the splitting of the atom have enabled us to understand the universe better, and to use its power for the benefit of humankind.
In conclusion, while entertainers provide us with an escape from the hardships of life, their contribution to society cannot be compared with that of scientists, who have revolutionized our lives with their discoveries and inventions. Therefore, I believe that the importance of scientists outweighs that of entertainers in today’s world.
